About this policy
Atomic Canyon, Inc. (“Atomic Canyon,” “we,” or “us”) operates the website at https://nuclearbench.com (the “Site”) and is responsible for the information collected through it. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
NuclearBench is a public benchmark developed by Atomic Canyon in collaboration with Idaho National Laboratory. Idaho National Laboratory does not operate the Site and does not receive information collected through it.
Information we collect
The Site is informational. It has no forms, accounts, or logins, and we do not ask you for your name, email address, or any other information about yourself.
We use a web analytics tool (described below) that automatically collects the following information when you visit:
- Pages you view, the time of your visit, and your clicks, scrolling, and other interactions with the page
- The website that referred you to the Site
- Your approximate country, derived from your IP address
- Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Your IP address, which is collected and stored with the analytics data and used to determine your approximate location
- A randomly generated identifier, stored in a cookie or similar browser storage (see the next section)
Session recordings and interaction data. We also record your visit to the Site as a session recording, which shows the pages as they appeared on your screen along with your clicks and scrolling, and we create heatmaps showing where visitors click and scroll. Text typed into input fields is hidden by default, but other text displayed on the page is not. We also collect browser error logs and page speed measurements.
The Site has no forms. The “Contact” link in the footer takes you to the Atomic Canyon website, where our general Privacy Policy applies to information you submit. If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use PostHog, a web analytics service, to count visits, pages viewed, referring sites, and visitor country, and to understand how visitors use the Site, including through the session recordings and heatmaps described above.
PostHog sets cookies or uses similar browser storage to recognize returning visitors and measure usage over time. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can limit PostHog analytics as described under “Your choices” below. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use the Site.
We do not use cookies or similar technologies on this Site for advertising.
How we use information
We use the information described above only to understand how the Site is used. Specifically, we use it to:
- Measure the number of visits and pages viewed
- See which websites and countries visitors come from and how visitors move through and interact with the Site
- Improve the Site and its content
- Keep the Site secure and operating properly
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Site:
- PostHog, our analytics provider, which processes the analytics data described above on our behalf. PostHog stores this data on servers in the United States.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and delivers the Site and may process technical request data such as IP addresses.
The Site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads them, Google receives your IP address and standard request information. Google states that this does not set cookies, and Google’s use of that information is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect our rights or the security of the Site, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of our business. We may publish aggregated statistics about Site usage that do not identify individuals.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can limit analytics on this Site by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings or by using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts. We do not currently offer a separate opt-out tool.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to know whether we are processing it, to receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because the Site does not identify visitors by name or email, we may not be able to locate analytics data that relates to you without additional information.
To make a request, email privacy@atomic-canyon.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. You may appeal a decision by replying to our response or emailing the same address with the subject line “Appeal of Decision Related to Privacy Rights Request.” An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written authorization.
Retention, security, and other terms
Retention. We keep session recordings for 90 days. We keep other analytics data for 7 years and then delete it, or longer only if the law requires.
Security. We use physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect. No website can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
International users. Atomic Canyon is based in the United States, and information collected through the Site may be processed in the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws.
Children. The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us at privacy@atomic-canyon.com.
External links. The Site may link to third-party websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
